Field Service Technician - Mechanical

Technical Requirements for Mechanical Field Service Specialist

Experience with rotating machinery assembly and/or overhaul, preferably in the 500 plus HP power range.

Experience with laser or optical alignment

Experience in large machinery installation

Working with high precision, critical tolerance gearboxes

Large gear inspection, bearing removal and installation

Assembly or overhaul of multi-stage gearboxes

Hydraulic installation of gearing on precision shafts

Can use read an interpret precision measurement tools

(micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, dial indicators)

Can read and interpret ISO standard drawings (tolerances, references & views)

Experience with Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems, installation, troubleshooting & repair

Can read and interpret P& I D drawings, hydraulic & pneumatic schematic drawings

Material feeding, polymer processing and pelletizing systems

Preference will be given to candidates with multi-stage gearbox service experience

Ability or experience to provide supervisory guidance and project management of a team of millwrights and mechanical craft workers to perform equipment installation and equipment maintenance.

Additional qualifications that would be beneficial:

Experience inside large scale olefin or refinery plants on the Gulf Coast

Has worked before in industrial chemical & polymer plants

Computer Skills & Knowledge

Can use a Windows PC

Has experience with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & Power Point)

Experience in writing in depth technical reports

Machinist experience a plus

Travel experience in the 70%+ range in blocks of 2-6 weeks.
