Education and/or Experience:
- Associates degree in Mechanical EngineeringTechnology or equivalent (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
- Trained in AutoCAD and Inventor/Solidworks
- Familiarity with German, French or Spanish language a plus
- 5 years as Designer
Technical Skills/Knowledge:
- Basic computer hardware and plotter skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Typing
- Knowledge of trigonometry
- Knowledge of math/algebra (i.e. areas of plane, volume of solids)
- Mechanics, calculation of various moments, center of gravity, etc.
- Knowledge of metal and non-ferrous materials and their properties
- Knowledge of SI (metric) system
- Familiarity with manufacturing practices
- Knowledge of U.S. Customary system (inches) and SI system (Metric), various ANSI and ISO Engineering and drafting standards
- General knowledge of ISO 9001 standards; detail knowledge of chapters Design control, Document control and Non-conforming product
- Knowledge of plotter, blue print machine
- Knowledge Windows, Microsoft products, Microstation, Solidworks, QAD, and SAP
- Knowledge of inspection tools, i.e. dial caliber, tape measure
- Knowledge of mechanical and electronic tools used in assembly/disassembly and test of the equipment
