We are seeking Mechanical Designer for our Engineering Development Group team to support standard product maintenance, design improvements and cost reduction. Qualified candidate will help develop new product designs by reviewing related requirements from industry or customer needs, global Standards/Directives, and internal manufacturing capabilities. Designer will produce quality manufacturing drawings and bills of materials for release into an Enterprise Resource Planning software, and work with vendors or production personnel to confirm the desired parts can be built or procured.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Standard Product offerings through Engineering Change Requests – By correcting drawings or BOM’s, improving manufacturability of designs, applying lean practices or by using value engineering principles to reduce costs.
  • Manage new equipment design projects - meeting the requirements of the industry and global standards and keeping them on schedule
  • Work with manufacturing personnel to insure manufacturability of designs and help resolve fabrication and assembly difficulties
  • Create, maintain, review and release Bills of Materials in the ERP system.
  • Determine cost analysis breakdowns for new or existing design
Requirements:
  • Training in AutoCAD and Inventor or Solidworks, with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience
  • Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft products, AutoCAD, Inventor, Autodesk Vault, and ERP Systems 
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing practices and processes
 
Education and/or Experience:

Associates degree in Mechanical Technology or equivalent
Training in AutoCAD and Inventor or Solidworks
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience preferred
Lean Principles experience preferred
Visual Basic or C# programming experience preferred.
